Twelve King | Folk-Rock Guitarist

Twelve King is a blues, folk and rock musician and guitarist. His repertoire is centered primarily on the twelve-string guitar and draws equally from traditional American folk and early blues, as well as 1990s alternative rock and grunge.

Lead Belly is one of his foundational influences, both through the repertoire itself and the central role of the twelve-string guitar. Nirvana and the grunge aesthetic extend that lineage into a more contemporary musical language.

Trained at the conservatory through the third cycle, notably in music theory and instrumental composition, he has developed an approach grounded in a strong understanding of musical writing. His influences also include Charles Ives and Brian Ferneyhough, whose explorations of dissonance, structure and complexity resonate with certain aspects of his interpretive work.

Twelve King thus develops a personal reading of folk, blues and rock, combining tradition, reinterpretation and contemporary writing.
